On foot
From La Ponne, it is possible to hike to discover the valley of La Belle or the Bois de Celles. You will be able to pass by "La Talle à Teurtous", a remarkable and venerable chestnut tree with its presumed 700 years old!
Two GR cross the Pays Mellois: GR 655 (St Jacques de Compostelle's way) and GR 36 (blue and white markings).
By bike
The Lac du Lambon site offers 9 signposted circuits.
On horseback
The equestrian centre L'Étrier du Pays Mellois welcomes you 5 minutes from the gîte.

The Lac du Lambon, only 15 minutes away, offers a wide variety of activities: mountain biking and hiking, children's playground, canoeing, kayaking, rowing, optimist, accrobranche, climbing and archery!

Tasting pleasures

Holiday time is the pleasure of going to the market to find fresh and local products.
Market of Celles-sur-Belle on Wednesday morning, of Melle on Friday morning.

Our main local speciality is goat's cheese and we are on La Route du Chabichou: visits to farms and tastings.
Direct sales at the Maison des fromages de chèvres, Laiterie Sèvre et Belle in Celles-sur-Belle.

Heritage and history: Verrines, Celles-sur-Belle and Melle

In our commune, the church of Verrines is one of the places not to be missed in Romanesque art.

The Gîte is located 5 km from Celles-sur-Belle and Melle, two small towns classified as "Petite cité de caractère".
Celles-sur-Belle is distinguished by a remarkable 17th century ensemble: Royal Abbey and abbey church.
The reputation of Melle is due to its three Romanesque churches and its Silver Mines, thanks to which the town became a leading monetary centre in the time of Charlemagne.
